Few weeks ago I started a discussion on LinkedIn in an attempt to find alternative, even wacky ideas, to project status reporting. I didn’t get too many ideas but one idea, shown below, was worth considering further.
The idea, provided by a chap by the name of Bob Vandenberg, was to use the PMBoK’s classification of process groups and knowledge areas as a mean to highlighting performance across the intersection points. The traffic light example I show below is for one project only but the idea can certainly be used as a way to compare performance across projects within a portfolio, etc.
Implementing this as a real indicator will certainly require more work and even if is found to be completely nonsensical, artistically, I like it.
Think about it!
